And now for something silly!

My mouth has a mind of its own
Don’t ask me how that works.
I think it broke some years ago,
Now it’s full of bizarre quirks.

It likes to keep things stuck in there
Its favorite being feet.
As soon as I take one of them out,
The other it will eat.

Also on it’s carte de jour
Are ends of sentences.
Deep thoughts and words I rarely use
It also preferences.

On top of that my mouth does like
To jumble things around
Like phrases, words, or parakeets
This spoes deaking confound!

I sent this poem to my Mom and in response she wrote the following poem. I though it was so good, I wanted to share it with all of you. I have such a great and creative mother!

I have a daughter that I love
And pray for all the time.
She’s just so sweet and loves me too
She perks me up with rhyme.

She came to us amid our prayers
After 15 years of marriage.
God knew our need and smiled on us
And filled our baby carriage.

Our nest increased from two to four
Our family was complete.
With love and patience from above
He guided all eight feet.

Oh those darn feet might get stuck
Among our pearly white choppers.
But God can sort out this oral mess
Make sense from wordy bloppers.

I might not verbalize my love
The way that I oughter.
I hope you can overlook my mistakes
Cause I love you so, my daughter.
