Pride

Pride is a killer of respect and love.
It pulls us apart from our Father above.
For God has great things and is a giver thereof.
But pride will reject what its not "worthy" of.

What pride does not know is that it has quite the nerve
To say to his God what he does not deserve.
It is quite condescending, one might observe
To say “You are wrong” to whom one does serve.

If God were to say “Be happy with me.”
"You’ve done a good job. Blessings I guarantee.”
I pray I'll accept, and won’t disagree.
For who’s the real master? My God or me?
