Hypocrisy

A man may talk of many things
Of which he's inspired to do
But test it out by what he does
to see if it is true.

He'll say he's learning lots of stuff,
Like humility and altruism
But wait until he lives them out
Before choosing to trust in him.

And suppose he says he'll help you out
But in acting does forestall
You're clearly not a high priority.
He might as well have not done it at all.

And if he says he'll serve his wife
And give her love and laughter,
But fails do this before you wed,
Don't think he'll do so after.

Oh, he may have the best intentions
But wait until you see
Him practicing what he does preach
Before setting your heart free.
